Adding a deck or patio to your home is a great investment. To take it one step further and instantly boost the value of your house, add a hot tub or a pool and watch as your home receives an instant face lift! Choose from above ground pool decks, swimming pool decks, concrete pool decks, in ground pool decks, or deck hot tubs. Some of the advantages of having a hot tub or pool are physical therapy, family fun and relaxation. Just remember to keep your tub/ pool closed with a cover when not in use and you can enjoy many years of soaking pleasure!
There is no doubt that adding a new deck to your home will work wonders for the looks and the usability of your home. You could also consider adding a hot tub or a pool to instantly glamorize your home. Choose from above ground pool decks to swimming pool decks, concrete pool decks, or deck hot tubs. Hot tubs and pools are great for relaxation and physical therapy, not to mention family fun. But keeping your tub or pool clean can be quite a headache. Thinking of all the chemicals you need to use to keep your tub or pool clean can give you a few sleepless nights. The best alternative is a tub or pool cover. It keeps all the right stuff in, the wrong stuff out and looks great.
Working with the local building department is an absolute necessity when you’re planning any kind of home improvement including adding a deck or a patio. The building plan has to be approved and a building permit obtained before you can get started on your project. The local building department will look at the overall deck size, the height off the ground, and the position of the deck relative to property lines, the size and location of framing before they approve the plan. They will also look at the soil type and the kind of wood you’re using along with the method of framing that is being used. When they are convinced that the building plan meets the code and bylaws, they will issue you a building permit for a fee.
We will be having foundation work done on our house that will require the deck to be removed. We would like to replace it with a new one. The current one is 14x10 and because of the slant of our property, it is about 5 feet off the ground. We are looking for an estimate for both wood and composite decks for the same size or possible larger. Thank you!
